  1. The male characters from the show skins main concern seem to be girls, parties and drugs. The leader of the boys is that kid Tony and he tries to hook his friends up with the girls, the parties and the drugs. Tony seem like he has ease with the girls and been through every situation there is.
Sid another character on the show is like Tony’s best friend but the total opposite of Tony. Sid is more caring and not as smooth of a person. You can see this during the scene when they’re eating breakfast at the dinner together. Sid is dress sloppy while tony well dress and tony is telling Sid about how he is going to get Sid a girl to lose his virginity to.
Chris is the crazy guy out of the male characters, he just does whatever says whatever and dresses however he wants to. Like when he went to the party and just started stealing people cell phones and then acting crazy running into people and fighting also while he was at the party.
Anwar is Muslim but still fits in the crew because he wants to party and get girls also. The first time you see Anwar in the show was when he was with his family praying and Tony calls him and gets him in trouble. There is Maxxie who is gay but still fits in with the crew. Anwar and Maxxie both drink alcohol and smoke.
All the male characters on skins are just looking for a good time. There in high school and that’s all they know to care about. Not living up to the expectations of the crew is just lots of jokes from your friend about how you didn’t accomplished what they did already.

  2. The main concern for the males on skins was having sex. Tony was the ring leader of all the boys and he even wanted his friend who was still a virgin to lose his virginity but it seemed like none of the girls wanted to have sex with him becuase they all said and thought he had a small penis. It is not good when your friends pressure you about having sex, it is your choice on whether or not you want to stay a virgin or lose your virginity. The males were also concerned about doing drugs and drinking, but that concern was not as bad as having sex.
The consequences for not living up to the male expections is turning gay. That is a big consequence for a male just because he will not live up to the male expection, but it is his choice on if he wants to live up to the male expection or be gay. Reguardless he will still be a male and he still will be a human being if he is gay. People might look at him different and treat him different but some time later on his friends will either have to accept him being gay or just stop being friends with him.
Some people who hang around a lot of gay people will think they will turn gay but that is not true. Gay people can turn a straight person gay but at the same time it has to be on the mind of the straight person that they want to be gay. The gay community is getting larger which is not good but it seems as though no one wants to change it.

  3. Throughout all five parts of episode one the males concern was mainly about sex. It also was about parties and drugs but the main focus was having sex with the opposite sex. One example was the first thing Tony did in the morning was stand in the window to watch a lady but naked get out the shower. Then he started to make phone calls to find a girl to have sex with Sid to lose his virginity. The parting and drugs only came into affect becuase they felt like it was a way to have a girl to have sex with Sid.

The consequences for not living up to the gender expectations was to lose friends. Tony said that he wasn't going to Sid friend if he didn't lose his virginity. Also they would begin to think that he mite become gay like their other friend. Sid wanted to have sex but was just too nervous and didnt know to go about it.

Overall, their circle of friendship revolved around having sex and parting. Tony ,the leader, was main one having sex and coming up with the ideas. Sid the virgin just followed Tony lead and did as was told. The other three charaters didnt have a major role but they also partied and sex ruled there world just about.

The concerns of the male characters are the same of all average high schools males. Those concerns are having sex, going to parties, and doing drugs. Their main concern is really sex. Tony tries to get his friend Sid to break his virginity that was one of his major concerns. Tony also tells Sid to go get drugs for the party that they plan on going to. They think being high is a cool think and thats why they need the drugs. The male characters of the show try to pressure their friends into doing the stuff they want them to do.
The consequences of not living up to the gender expectations of this show are being a virgin and being gay. Another consequence is losing your best friend. Tony said if Sid doesn't loses your virginity by his 17th birthday he won't be his friend any more. Tony expects all of his friends to be having sex by a certain time. Some people think being with other gay people can make them gay. Everybody expects you to be like everybody else. They expect for you to live a certain way.
In closing, Tony basically wanted his friends to do what he did the way he did it. The pressured them into doing things his way. They did a lot of things that the average high school student would do.

  5. On Skins the concerns of the characters are sex, drugs, and partying. Tony was like the most popular guy, and his main concern was to get his friend to have sex for the first time. Not knowing that his friend was in love with his girl.

Sid is tonys friend. He is really a cool guy. he just gets judged on being a virgin and the way he keep his self up. He dont wear flashy clothes or have a certain style, hes just a cool guy.

chris is also a cool guy, I like when he was hitting on the teacher. It seemed like she was liking him. I like how he answered her phone and was bad mouthing the guy on the other line. He dress ok most of the time.

The concequences for not living up to gender expectations were if you are a guy and your a virgin you will be called gay, and the females will be called lesbians. They have different expectations on how females should be.Yes there are different expectations with different kinds of women. With Tony girl, she was too good for his friend to have sex with so tony told him to have sex with the crazy girl who likes to cook.

Females are patrayed as sluts, hoes, and a easy piece of meat. They make it seen like females are so easy to sleep with.

The camera really focus on Tony and his girl. The way they both dress is good, tony stay clean and his girl stay well dressed. But the virgin does not dress well or the other dudes, and the other girls donot dress as good as Tonys girl.

In this show i believe they match the cool with the cool and the lame with the lame. Tony is a charming guy and he has a pretty girl, Sid is not well polished and he has no style. They match Sid wit the crazy girl who can cook and loved drugs.

  6. On this episode of Skins the main thing the male characters were focused on was having sex, going to parties, and doing drugs. Tony was the leader of the male group and he influenced all the rest of the males to be involved in these things. Tony is the easy going friend that seems like he has been through everything with a girl, but Sid is just the opposite. He is Tony's best friend, but still a virgin. It was obvious that Sid and Tony were polar opposites because Tony would always be dressed for an event were as Sid would dress sloppy.

Peer pressure is a big factor in this episode because Tony sets up a fling for Sid to loose his virginity. It is solely Sid's choice when and with who he wants to loose his virginity to but Tony has taken it into his own hands. Tony has also pressured Sid into doing drugs before they go to a party. I can tell that Sid has a strong mind at some points but he wants to be accepted.

The consequences for still being a virgin and not living up the male gender role is that you will be perceived as gay. Tony has made it a main priority for Sid to loose his virginity and even says if he is still a virgin at this 17th birthday he will not be his friend anymore. Sid wanted to have sex so all of these things would not happen but he was too nervous and did not know how to go about doing it.

Skins shows just a little inside sneak peek of what happens in the world of high school boys and girls. These things are common, and that is not good. High schools, as well as, colleges are all about peer pressure and fitting in. If you have a strong mind, it will be harder to fall weak to any situation.

  7. On the show "Skins" there is alot of drama in the making and the teens have too much going on at one time. They all have many different personalities and problems. The show seems a little confusing and it changes from one thing to another at a very quick pace. With that happening, at times I do not know exactly what going on. On the other hand, the show is very good and draws alot of attention.

My outlook on the characters was not too wonderful. They all seem to be overwhelmed with problems that causes them to become reckless. The teens portray images as if they need conseling. They dont seem to be focused on schooling; more the partying and drugs than anything. Their minds are mostly on sex.

The camera is mostly focused on their sex life, partying, and drugs. The drugs and sex has their mind where it seems like nothing else matters. Their drug use cause them not the pay close attention to what they are doing and how they act with one another. Drugs and alcohol and cause people to do stuff they have never done and cause them to regret things.

There wasn't many relationships in the show that appeared to be serious. Tony and Michelle were the only two that seem to have something going on. Although, it seems like they only want is sex from one another. They seem to not focus on the important problems.

Nevertheless, the show is good and in my opinion is worth watching. However, the understanding to me on what was actually going on was not clear enough. The characters seem to have different personalities but they get along well. I would like to watch more to understand what it all leads up to.

  9. Throughout the episode, the main concern for males is having sex, doing drugs and partying. In the first part of the show, tony trying to convienced his friend, Sid, to lose his virginity. It seems the role for a male is to have sex. If you dont have sex it consider you are gay or homosexual.

Peer pressure is main factor state in this espisode. Being a virgin is not living up to the male role. So, the peer pressure comes in place to break your virginity and that was exactly tony was doing to Sid. Making Sid feel down inside because he still a virgin.

Tony send Sid on a mission to collect drugs. you could see that sid didnt want to do it but peer pressure was reason that he done it. Tony feel that sid is not playing the male role. I guess not doing the male duties.

I guess Tony feel like he was living up to the male expectations. he wakes up every morning to peek at his neighbor naked. He have a girlfriend but only make out and have sex with her. He love doing drugs and partying. Thats the male expectations in this TV show and Tony living up to every expectation.

This series really show how teenagers and young adults do in high school or in college. Peer pressuring each other to do things thats not suitable for them. Making things harder for themselves.

  10. Skins is a TV series with young teenagers having fun by going to parties, taking drugs and behaving in a sexual way. The main characters have different personality's, style , but at the end of the day they are a group of friend trying to have a good day and experiment. Since the beginning of "skins" you are able to see what the males are more concerned about sex. The main Character is trying to get is friend laided because his friend is still a virgin. He is trying to do everything in his power to get him laided by finding the perfect girl to have sex with is friend , to buying drugs to make it easier for them to have sex.

The young teenager is still a virgin and he would be the person not living to his genders expectation because he is still a virgin.Males at that age are not supposed to be virgin. I do not agree with the statement but that's whats society thinks. Females are portrayed to be a sex toy.The reason behind my judgment is that almost all the time you see women in lingerie. The males persuade the women and the women tend to go with the flow. Not, all women are expected to behave the same way, expectations of a women are always different.

Skins Show young teenagers in the society at that time . Throughout the movie there was a lot of peer pressure that can confuse a young mind into thinking its cool or the right thing to do. Skins is a pretty funny T.v series . It is a good teenage drama show because it showswhat the teenagers go through.

  11. In the television show skins, the only concern of the males on the show seems to be the opposite sex and how they can exploit them for sex. Throughout the entire episode the main goal of Tony was to help Syd lose his virginity. The episode was focused mainly around the sexual desires of the male characters of the show.

Failure to to achieve pleasure from the opposite sex resulted in embarrassment, discomfort, and anger for the characters. As a male in television show, sex seems to be one of the only desires and if not achieved one is instantly looked down upon.

The blankets in Tony's room are even sexually related as they display the image of two naked bodies laying beside one another. As a result of Syd not losing his virginity by the end of the episode he felt bad because he did not live up to not only his expectations but to that of his friend Tony's and therefore is suffering extreme disappointment in himself.
