I think that the author express a good opinion, because students are not getting what they are suppose to be get in school such as there learning skills and better study habits to be sucessful in there college major. Also many teachers are letting student get by with having the right skills to pass, and i think that the teacher who are doing that should not do it, because they are putting the future in harms way. Another reason why students are not being sucessful is,because some may still have the mine set of a High school student.Students who really wont a future should wake up and get on the ball and teachers need to do what is right for students future.
The article is exactly correct. I think that most people pick a college based on what they have heard about the social experiences, rather than the academic success. I have heard my peers say that they picked a certain major because its an easy major. So they stay out all night and they dont attend classes because the classes are just that simple to them. And many of them have walked across the stage with a degree.
I agree with some of the things the article says but its some that I dont agree with. I think that some people do just pick easy majors for easier classes but that doesnt mean they are not going to graduate or something in life. Its many different ways to be something in life without having certain degrees.
I believe the article is correct for the most part, but there are some statements that were made that can be argued with. I don't necessarily believe that just because students pick easy majors means that they won't amount to anything in life, or that easy majors are popular now. Some students may just pick that particular major just because they're actually interested in it while some possibly choose that major just because it is easy. That situation can be looked at from several point of views but for the author to say that students choosing easier majors has become popular is a bias opinionated statement.
I agree with the perfessor to a certain extent. If students had time to focus soupy on the major that they have come to college to peruse then, they would be a more productive student. For example, when you are in an university you are required to take core courses; Math, english, a science, and a history. But, what if i am in school to be a physical therapist? there is no need for math or history. So, there is and would be a lacj of concentration towards those subjects. More over, i agree with the administer to a certain extent.
I feel like some things he says is correct for as spending alot of money towards college. Also he said that we should take college more serious and stay focus on things to better ourself. But I feel that why take a these basic courses when we just done this in high school. We should maybe take one english, math, history, and science to refresh but then we should jump into our major. Some of things things we have to do are not causes for and should be avoid.
I agree with the author on this artical because the students are not improving their skills in critical thinking, complex reasoning and writing. I do believe this will hurt the economy with the students just getting by. Teachers are passing students and the students dont know nothing about the class. If all teachers a just letting students get by when they are able to get a job they wont know anything about what there doing. I feel that students should study an understand what is being taught so they will have that knowledge for the future.
